Off to Lanarkshire

So it's over to Airdrie tonight, in the hope that Dumbarton's youthful squad can gel and claim some more points to avert an increasingly serious relegation situation. There will be a match report from me later this evening.

Meanwhile, over on the official DFC website, Alan Findlay writes: "Sons' hectic schedule continues at Excelsior Stadium tonight with Airdrie United providing another stiff test for Alan Adamson's young lads. ... Reflecting on Saturday's disappointing defeat against Brechin City, the manager said: 'It is another loss, and you are never happy with that, but Brechin are a very good side and the league table does not lie. We showed them far too much respect and they dominated the first half, but there were positives to take from the later stages of the game.'

"Sons will be without the suspended Martin McNiff for the trip to Lanarkshire with midfielder Craig McLeish doubtful. Coming back into contention will be Andy Geggan who missed the Brechin loss and he is added to the squad."
