After a raft of injuries for
Jim Chapman's men meant that
Dumbarton had to make the long trip to
Elgin with several juniors in tow, the Sons had to be content with a dour 1-1 draw.
Ray Logan equalised for DFC on 75 minutes after
Steven McKay put the
home side ahead with a well-executed free kick on 24 minutes. But I gather it was a grim match and performance... with a lengthy journey back home for the loyal Sons fans who made the trip. That's fitba.
Meanwhile, my locals
Exeter City also pulled a point out of the fire in the second half at
Darlington, their first league match since winning promotion back to League Two. A 'game of two halves', apparently, with the home side well on top at the start. Next Saturday is the season opener at St James' Park.
