The new season is under way in Scotland, and things are looking up for Dumbarton. The 3-2 Challenge Cup defeat against Airdrie United was disappointing, given that we were two up in the first half. But last season Sons would have been nowhere near competing with a side two divisions higher. The proof of the pudding (and in particular, all those summer signings) will be with the first few league games of the season, starting at home to Montrose tomorrow.
