All due respect to St Mirren, but like a lot of Dumbarton fans, I suspect, my heart rather sank when we came out of the hat with an away tie at Love Street in the second round of the CIS Insurance Cup this afternoon. Both in tournaments and friendlies, the Sons and the Buddies seem to have become - how shall I say - rather over-acquainted in recent years... with the goals and results heading firmly in the direction of the SPL outfit. Watching a few minutes of their performance against Celtic over the weekend, courtesy of the BBC's website, I don't hold out much hope of anything different this time, either. Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs or Dundee United would have been fun, if not a tie we had a realistic chance of winning. [Pic : Paul Keegan in action against St Mirren in July 2008.
