Crunch time at the Rock

After a bitterly disappointing 3-1 defeat to East Stirling at Ochilview on Saturday, Sons face their promotion rivals again for the second time in four days at the Rock tonight. A result is really important, but it's going to be tough. Centre-half Ben Gordon is out after being stretchered off during the first encounter. A win would be a massive boost. A draw would see us teetering on the brink. Another loss doesn't bear thinking about. Even so, there are thirteen League games left after this evening, with 39 points up for grabs. A play-off place remains a realistic aim. Apart from Cowdenbeath, no-one has looked consistently strong in the leading pack. We need to stop the Shire breaking loose. 'Mon Sons... With the wind and rain up here today, it's gonna be another Rock classic! Crowd will be down though, cos it clashes with my Lent Group where Episcopalians can feel all warm and cosy!

*Warm and cosy?* In Lent?! You should get down to the Rock for a *real* bit of spiritual purgation as soon as you can ;) Looking good for Thistle - two points gained on St Johnstone tonight. See you on 22nd, btw. I'll be in town that weekend...

Now, that's what I call suicide.. or am I being punished for having Lent Groups when The Sons are playing at home?
